In the early Spring of 1986, 8084 rented a house outside of Manchester, New Hampshire. The plan was to take six months to focus on writing songs for what would become their first album. Moving to the Manchester area gave them closer proximity to Boston and Hirsh Gardner, which enabled him to be present for the pre-production work. Once the songs were ready to record, the band took over New England Studios in Braintree, Massachusetts, and with the Linn Drum programming talents of Anthony J. (Tony) Resta and engineer Bob St. John, the Hirsh Gardner-produced first album was born. The album was picked up for distribution in Europe, and the band received favorable reviews in European publications such as Kerang! and AORzine. Subsequently, many new fans were won who continue to support the band to this day.
